Turf Dawgs Inc. believes in using an integrated pest management strategy for fertilization, weed control and pest control. What this means is that we think in advance about what we are trying to accomplish and use the solution with the least amount of impact on the environment. Simply put, we don't apply chemicals in a "whether it needs it or not" manner.

We have tried with mixed results using only natural organic products. The issue is that these products simply do not provide the level of weed control most homeowners desire. The fertilizer products work well, but don't provide weed control. I believe that a mix of organic and chemical solutions is best for appearance with a minimal environmental impact.

On the commercial side and for larger properties, Turf Dawgs Inc. has teamed with Pro Turf of Lakeville, MN. They have been in business since 1982 and do a great job and only hand apply their products in liquid form. Other national companies use machines that are fast, but not careful or precise. Hand application may take a little more time, may even cost a little more, but is well worth it given the better results and lower environmental impact.
